Two arrested in separate theft cases in Siliguri, stolen items recovered

Siliguri, 01st March: Bhakti Nagar police achieved success in two separate theft cases in the city, arresting two youths and recovering the stolen items, including a battery and a costly bicycle.


The accused have been identified as Pankaj Kumar Sha and Sudip Malo, both residents of the Bhakti Nagar police station area.

According to reports, on the 26th February, a battery was stolen from a sound system shop in the ISKCON Mandir Road area. Following the incident, the shop owner lodged a written complaint at Bhakti Nagar police station.


Acting on the complaint, police launched an investigation and arrested Pankaj Kumar Shah. The stolen battery was later recovered from his residence.

In another incident, a costly bicycle was stolen from the Bedgara area on the 25th February. A complaint was filed at the police station regarding the theft.

During the investigation, police arrested Sudip Malo and recovered the stolen bicycle from the Don Bosco More area.

Both accused were produced before the Jalpaiguri district court on Sunday. Police are continuing further investigation into the incidents.
