Two arrested in separate sexual harassment cases in Siliguri

Siliguri, 06th March: Two individuals have been arrested in connection with separate sexual harassment incidents in Siliguri. The accused have been identified as Abhinash Pathak and Dilip Saha.


According to police sources, a young woman from Sikkim, residing in a rented house in the Limbu Basti area for work purposes, went to a local shop to buy some groceries. She alleged that the shop owner, Abhinash Pathak, sexually harassed her. The woman filed a written complaint at Bhaktinagar Police Station, and following an investigation, the accused was arrested.

In a separate incident in the Amtala area under Ashighar Outpost, a minor was allegedly sexually harassed during a local kirtan event. Dilip Saha was caught in the act by local residents and handed over to the police. A written complaint was later filed against him, and he was arrested.


Both accused were produced in Jalpaiguri court on Friday. The police are continuing their investigation into the incidents.
