Two arrested for theft by cutting tin roof to enter shop in Siliguri

Siliguri, 10th December: The Bhakti Nagar police have arrested two criminals involved in a theft where they cut open the tin roof of a shop to execute a theft. The arrested individuals have been identified as Roshan Barman and Haren Das. Police recovered stolen goods worth approximately ₹70,000 from their possession.


Police sources revealed that the theft occurred on Sunday when the culprits cut the tin sheet of a shop in the Eastern Bypass area. The shop owner filed a complaint at the Bhakti Nagar police station on Monday and the authorities launched an investigation. Acting on a tip-off, the police raided and successfully apprehended the two miscreants.

The stolen goods, valued at ₹70,000, were also recovered from the suspects. Roshan Barman has been identified as a primary offender in the case. Both accused have been presented before the Jalpaiguri court on Tuesday.


At present, the police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
