Hamiltonganj, 04th December: The cops of Kalchini police station achieved a significant breakthrough following the mysterious recovery of skeletal remains of a man from the forest under the Hamiltonganj range of Kalchini block. Within a day of the recovery, two youths identified as Milan Oraon (18) and Sanju Roy (19), residents of Forward Nagar in Hamiltonganj, were arrested in connection to the case.
It has to be noted that remains were recovered from the forest on Sunday afternoon. Following this, the preliminary investigation by the police indicated wild animal attack as the possible cause of the death.
According to police sources, the skeletal remains recovered were of a young man. During further investigation, several information was unearthed. The deceased, identified as Adesh Goyala, a resident of Chalsa, was not killed in a wild animal attack. Reportedly, the young man went missing during his visit to the Hamiltonganj fair on the day of Chhath Puja.
Following the arrest of the two youths and the subsequent interrogation, the prospects of murder came to light. Police sources further revealed that the youth was murdered with the intention of robbery. In this regard, the family of the deceased has demanded stringent punishment for both the accused. At present, the police are engaged in further investigation.
