Siliguri, 08th August: Two people have been arrested for the murder of a resident of Siliguri Ward No. 38. The arrested have been identified as Rahul Kamar (44) and Ranjit Kamar (35). They were produced in Siliguri court today.
It is to recall, on August 04, a man, identified as Sanjit Pal, died after suffering severe injuries in a fight with his friend.
According to family sources, the deceased, on Monday night, went to a friend’s house in Lichubagan. Allegedly, a quarrel broke out between the two and as it escalated, Sanjit was severely beaten.
The man was found lying with severe injuries near Court More the next morning. When he returned home, his family members rushed him to Siliguri District Hospital, where he was further referred to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Unfortunately, Sanjit succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased’s family members lodged a complaint at the Siliguri police station. Based on the complaint, the police launched an operation and arrested the accused from Lichubagan area, on Friday.
