Siliguri, 09th October: Darjeeling MP Raju Bista arrived at Bagdogra Airport from Delhi this morning and spoke on the tripartite meeting called by the Ministry of Home Affairs on October 12 at 4 pm. Maintaining that the meeting has been called for a permanent solution for Darjeeling Hills, he hoped the meeting will be very successful.
Taking a jibe at some of the leaders of the hills, the MP said that the meeting has been called by the Ministry of Home Affairs not for GTA but for a permanent political solution’ to the pending issues in the Darjeeling Hills, Siliguri, Terai and Dooars.
“In this meeting, only those people have been called who believe in the Indian Constitution and truly want a political permanent solution for the problems of Darjeeling as per the Constitution. I don’t think it is necessary to invite individuals who are only interested in the chair of GTA,” MP Bista stated.
Furthermore, the MP took a dig at Mamata Banerjee and congratulated her for “legally” becoming the Chief Minister of the state by contesting the election of MLA twice.
