Siliguri, 14th August: On Monday, the Trinamool Chatra Parishad held a protest and expressed grief over the untimely demise of Swapnadeep Kundu, a student at Jadavpur University.
According to reports, a condolence gathering was organized in front of the administrative building of North Bengal University (NBU). Members of the Trinamool Chatra Parishad paid their respects by observing a moment of silence and placing wreaths on Swapnadeep’s photograph.
Mithun Baishya, the in-charge of the Trinamool Chatra Parishad at NBU, purportedly asserted that the individuals who have been arrested have affiliations with the “Laal Jhanda” Party aiming at the left. He also highlighted that the atmosphere at NBU differs significantly from that at Jadavpur University. Baishya noted that the university administration has proactively taken measures to prevent ragging within the campus.
