Kharibari, 07th January: A horrific road accident in Buraganj, Dwarabox area of Kharibari, resulted in the death of a doctor on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Dr. Rajesh Mallick, a resident of Salkavita, Shiv Mandir, and a doctor at Darjeeling Sadar Hospital.
According to reports, the doctor was riding a motorcycle along the Naxalbari-Ghoshpukur state road when he collided head-on with a truck carrying potatoes coming from the opposite direction.
Locals rushed the injured doctor to Naxalbari Rural Hospital, from where he was referred to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), where he was pronounced dead. Following the incident, Kharibari police seized both vehicles involved in the collision and have launched an investigation into the accident.
