Siliguri, 30th October: A 12-year-old boy, Suraj Das, sustained serious injuries in a road accident while delivering food to his father. The incident occurred in the Jaleswari area of Siliguri’s Eastern Bypass.
Reports indicate that Suraj’s father, Lakshman Das, works at a local shop. On this particular day, Suraj was cycling along Jaleshwari Road to bring food to his father when he was struck by an oil tanker while crossing the street.
The speeding vehicle struck the boy and fled the scene, leaving him critically injured. Local residents quickly rushed Suraj to Siliguri District Hospital for initial treatment. He was later transferred to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for further care.
