Kharibari, 21st June: An atmosphere of grief cast over the Deburam Jote area in Kharibari where one-and-a-half-year-old Sameer slipped into an under-construction soak pit build by the local Gram Panchayat.
According to reports, on Friday afternoon, the toddler was playing with his mother when he accidentally slipped into the soak pit and fell unconscious. Meanwhile, the concerned mother found Sameer in that state
The child was immediately rescued and rushed to Batasi Primary Health Centre where the medical professionals declared him dead. In this regard, the locals stated that such incidents can be avoided if the pit constructed at the earliest.
