TMCP leader Sourav Bhaskar sends legal notice to Suvendu Adhikari over defamation claim

Siliguri, 10th July: Sourav Bhaskar, vice-president of the Darjeeling District Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (TMCP), has sent a legal notice to West Bengal Opposition Leader Suvendu Adhikari, accusing him of defamation.

The move comes after Suvendu Adhikari allegedly stated at a recent press conference that several individuals affiliated with the “Bhaipo lobby” were employed in various colleges across the state. As proof, he reportedly released photos of nearly fifty individuals, a list that allegedly included Bhaskar’s name and photograph.

Calling the remarks defamatory, Bhaskar clarified that although he works as a casual employee at Siliguri Commerce College, his appointment involved no political influence or favouritism. He claimed Suvendu’s comments had caused damage to both his social and political reputation.

Bhaskar stated that if Suvendu Adhikari does not issue an unconditional public apology within seven days, he will take the matter to court.
