Siliguri, 11th March: A rally was staged on behalf of the Vishva Hindu Parishad in Bidhannagar under the Phansidewa block on the occasion of Holi, on Monday.
What created a stir was the presence of Pranabesh Mandal, the former Pradhan of the Phansidewa Panchayat Samiti and the General Secretary of the Yuva Trinamool Congress of Darjeeling District, along with his party members, in the meeting of the Vishva Hindu Parishad. Pranabesh Mandal, who attended the event without informing his party, also condemned TMC and the State Government during the Vishva Hindu Parishad meeting.
A video of the incident went viral, in which, Pranabesh Mandal mocked the State Government’s developmental works and stated that not a single crematorium has been constructed in the Phansidewa block yet. After the incident came to light, the Darjeeling District Trinamool Congress President Ranjan Sarkar expelled Mandal from the party for 6 years.
