Siliguri, 22nd July: The lifeless body of Trinamool Congress member Ranjit Mandal, who had traveled to Kolkata to participate in Martyrs’ Day rally, has been recovered.

According to sources, Mandal had arrived in Kolkata on July 19 along with other Trinamool workers to attend the event. Tragically, news of Mandal’s death reached his family on the day of the rally itself. On Sunday afternoon, Mandal’s body was recovered from Bakkhali. Mandal worked as a mechanic by profession and joined the Indian National Trinamool Trade Union Congress (INTTUC) nearly five years ago.

Last year, he had also participated in the Martyrs’ Day rally. Family sources revealed that Mandal had posted a video on social media showing a boat sailing in the sea just before the incident.
