Siliguri, 26th July: To mark the third anniversary of the Trinamool Congress-led board in Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad, Sabhadhipati Arun Ghosh launched several initiatives on Friday.
The day began with a tree plantation drive. At Patharghata in Matigara, door-to-door garbage collection and solid waste management practices were reviewed. Later, during a visit to Naxalbari Rural Hospital, the Sabhadhipati inspected healthcare services and distributed food items to patients.
District Magistrate of Darjeeling, Preeti Goyal, and other officials were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Arun Ghosh highlighted that since forming the board, the TMC has consistently prioritised development across the sub-division. He claimed that funds were mobilised not only from the Mahakuma Parishad’s own budget but also from various state government departments. A detailed report on the year’s development work will be published within ten days.
He added that if the TMC secures victory in the upcoming Assembly elections, it will usher in further progress in the region.
