Siliguri, 08th February: The North Bengal TMC leaders have set a deadline for the BJP on the statement of state bifurcation by holding a press conference in Siliguri. Trinamool leaders held a press conference at Siliguri Journalists Club today in this regard.
During this TMC District President and North Bengal Development Minister were present. Minister Udayan Guha said that a few days ago, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma opposed demand for a separate Tripura state. But on the contrary, BJP MLAs in West Bengal and leaders like John Barla and Nisith Pramanik are talking to divide that state.
North Bengal Development Minister stated that the BJP is making contradictory statements, taking stance differently in both states. He further stated that within 48 hours, the BJP state leaders have to hold a press conference and give their statement on it and if the BJP fails to comply, then it has to be understood that the BJP is pretending.
