Siliguri, 08th February: During a press conference, BJP state general secretary Sayantan Basu accused TMC of trying to downplay the vandalism incident that occurred at NJP’s land port. He further alleged that TMC has been threatening the BJP leaders in various ways.
Basu stated that even before the land port conflict occurred, a group of Trinamool leaders offered BJP Siliguri organizational district vice-president Joydeep Nandi to join TMC. However, Nandi denied the offer and made it clear that no one will leave BJP and join other parties. He further warned of staging sit-in protests if the threatening phone calls continue.
The political atmosphere has boiled up ever since a scuffle broke out at NJP land port. TMC leader Prasenjit Roy who was allegedly involved in the incident has been dismissed from the party.
