TMC holds protest march in Siliguri against Amit Shah’s comments on Ambedkar

Siliguri, 23rd December: The TMC organized a protest march in Siliguri, demanding an immediate apology from Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his controversial remarks about Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The march was part of a state-wide protest called by the party, following the Chief Minister’s instructions.


The controversy erupted after Amit Shah made remarks about Dr. Ambedkar during a speech in the Rajya Sabha on December 17. Several political leaders and organizations, including the TMC, condemned the comments and demanded an apology.

On Monday, the protest march started from Baghajatin Park in Siliguri, traversed various city streets, and culminated at Mahatma Gandhi More (Airview More). The march was attended by Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb, Darjeeling District TMC President Papiya Ghosh, and several other party leaders, workers, and supporters.
