Siliguri, 20th March: Allegations have surfaced that Trinamool Congress party flags were torn in the dark hours near the Rathkhola ground area in Siliguri. The incident reportedly took place late on Thursday night, triggering a reaction from the Trinamool Congress.
According to local sources, several TMC flags had been installed across areas surrounding Rathkhola ground. It is alleged that these flags were deliberately removed or torn down in a planned manner. The TMC has further claimed that while saffron flags installed in the same area ahead of Ram Navami remained untouched, only their party flags were specifically targeted.
Trinamool Congress leadership has stated that CCTV footage has been collected and a written complaint will be lodged at the local police station regarding the incident.
On the other hand, BJP candidate from Siliguri Shankar Ghosh stated that CCTV footage from the surrounding area should be examined to identify those responsible and ensure appropriate action is taken.
