Jalpaiguri, 13th May: A shocking news unfolded in the Tekatuli area of Maynaguri block in Jalpaiguri district as TMC booth President Jagannath Das (45) was tragically killed in a road accident.
According to reports, on Sunday night, Jagannath Das was crossing the road on his motorcycle when a pickup van travelling from Dhupguri to Maynaguri collided with his vehicle. As a result, Jagannath Das was immediately knocked down. Meanwhile, the locals rushed to the rescue and transported the injured Jagannath Das to the Maynaguri hospital. However, despite efforts, the doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
The untimely demise of Jagannath Das cast an atmosphere of mourning in the area. Meanwhile, the police recovered the body and sent it to the Jalpaiguri Super Specialty Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The entire incident is currently under further investigation.
