Cooch Behar, 16th December: Three leopards have been brought to Rasikbeel Mini Zoo in Baxirhat in Cooch Behar resulting in an atmosphere of happiness. Jhargram Zoological Park’s adult male leopard ‘Sohail’ was brought to Rasikbeel Mini Zoo.
Reportedly, ‘Sohail’ was in Jhargram Zoological Park for several years and had two cubs Sultan and Shahzad from his partner ‘Harshini’. Significantly, Sohail and the two cubs were shifted to Rasikbeel. The Forest Department had organized a special program on the arrival of the three leopards.
On Friday night, Jhargram Zoo Range Officer Atul Prasad Dey, a veterinarian, and others arrived at the Rasikbeel with the three additions. According to Forest Department sources, currently, there are two female leopards, Rimjhim and Garima, in Rasikbeel Mini Zoo of Cooch Behar, and lacked a male leopard. Forest officials added that the void has been filled.
