Siliguri, 20th February: A shocking incident came to the fore where three miscreants were apprehended for allegedly extorting money under the guise of GST officials in Siliguri. The arrested accused have been identified as Partho Ghosh, Rupesh Tirkey, and Shubhojit Ghosh, residents of Bagdogra.
According to reports, the officials of the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police station were alerted to three miscreants extorting money from people by cleverly posing as GST officials and were on a hunt for the gang. On Monday morning, the police officials launched an operation in the Fulbari area and successfully arrested the three accused.
Following the arrest, the police registered a case and presented the accused criminals before the court for legal proceedings.
