Siliguri, 04th July: In a joint operation with NJP Police, Bidhannagar Police from Kolkata arrested three key accused involved in a cyber fraud racket from Fulbari and Dabgram areas.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Nasir Ahmed and Ruksar Bibi, residents of Paschim Dhantala in Fulbari, and Roni Rana, a resident of Natun Basti in Dabgram Satellite Township.
According to Bidhannagar Police sources, two cyber fraud cases involving ₹12 lakh in 2022 and ₹4 lakh in 2024 were registered at Bidhannagar Cyber Crime Police Station. Based on investigations into these cases, the police tracked down the accused using multiple leads and finally apprehended them.
No money has been recovered from the accused so far. The trio was produced before the Jalpaiguri court on Friday and will be taken to Kolkata on transit remand by Bidhannagar Police for further investigation.
