Three arrested for assaulting women employees and online fraud in Siliguri

Siliguri, 28th August: The Bagdogra police arrested three people for online fraud and assaulting women employees. The arrested have been identified as Biraj Roy, Suman Paul and Navratna Roy, all are residents of Jalpaiguri and Cooch Behar districts.


According to the information, a group of people came together to start an online business under the name ‘Youth Power Vision Private Limited’ in the Loknath Nagar of ​​Bagdogra. Through this platform, young men and women from the hills, plains and outlying states were duped under a variety of pretexts. 

The company also talked about providing training to sell everyday household items online. For which additional funds were also taken from the participants. Furthermore, the company management allegedly assaulted their female employees. 


Seeking intervention, hundreds of young men and women from the hills and different parts of North Bengal filed a complaint at the Bagdogra police station on Friday. After which the police arrested all the three accused.

One of the complainants, Gulabi Sarkar, said that in the company cheated many youths under the pretext of providing jobs. According to her complaint, dated August 20, one of the accused came to her house and assaulted her. At present, on the basis of the registered case of the complainant, the police have initiated an investigation.
