Siliguri, 18th September: Matigara police have arrested three people for allegedly stealing gold and silver jewellery, an expensive laptop and other items from a locked house in Siliguri. Police have also recovered the stolen laptop, silver jewellery and other items from their possession.
According to police, Asim Ghosh went out with his wife on September 12. During their absence, the accused allegedly entered the house and committed the theft. Following a complaint, police arrested two of the accused within a few hours.
During interrogation, police allegedly learned that the stolen items had been sold to another person. The police subsequently arrested the third accused as well.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Pankaj Roy (28), Kamal Roy (25) and Shahjamal Sheikh (43). The stolen laptop and silver jewellery were recovered from Shahjamal’s house.
All three were produced before the Siliguri court on Friday. Police are continuing their investigation into the case.
