Bagdogra, 25th May:The Santoshi Maa temple in Bagdogra has once again fallen victim to theft, marking a recurring pattern of criminal activity at the sacred site.
Previously, just before the temple’s annual puja on May 9, unidentified individuals had forcibly broken the lock of the temple’s grill. They made away with cash and valuable puja items from the donation box, leaving the temple authorities in shock and dismay.
Reportedly, on Friday night, thieves struck the temple once more. Breaking the lock once again, the culprits gained illicit access to the temple premises, stealing cash from the donation box and other worship materials.
After the incident, the Bagdogra police station has been notified of the incident, and an investigation has been launched into the matter. Initial speculation suggests that the perpetrators may be drunken youths, but the police are conducting a thorough examination to uncover the truth behind the recurring thefts.
