Siliguri, 10th June: A theft occurred in an empty house in the Jorpakhri area of Fulbari II, resulting in the arrest of Mohammad Shakil by NJP police.
Reportedly, the incident took place between June 2 and June 8, while the homeowner and family were out of town. Upon their return, they discovered the house in disarray and several gold ornaments missing.
The homeowner filed a written complaint at the NJP police station, prompting a swift response from the authorities. Within 12 hours of receiving the complaint, the police apprehended Mohammad Shakil and recovered the stolen gold ornaments.
The accused was presented in Jalpaiguri court on Monday. The police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
