Cooch Behar, 08th December: Sensation prevailed after incidents of theft surfaced from Baburhat Bazaar in Cooch Behar under the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station where three jewelry stores were robbed concurrently.
As per the local and police sources, miscreants broke open the locks of three gold jewelry stores simultaneously and made off with gold jewelry and cash. Significantly, the robbery was captured on CCTV installed in one of the stores. However, the miscreants could not be identified as they were masked. Upon receiving the news, the cops of Kotwali police station arrived at the spot and initiated an investigation.
It has to be noted that, earlier on Wednesday night, similar incidents occurred in two gold jewelry stores located at Pundibari market of Cooch Behar. Currently, police are engaged in a detailed investigation to ascertain possible connections between the two incidents.
