Siliguri, 08th November: In yet another incident of theft during Chhath Puja, the thieves took advantage of a vacant residence and made off with valuables. The incident took place in Siliguri’s Tikiapara area under Ward No. 28 at the residence of Suraj Basfore.
Reportedly, Basfore and his family had left for the ghats for Chhath Puja. The house was left unattended when a group of thieves broke into the house, forced open the door, and stole gold jewelry and cash from the wardrobe before fleeing the scene.
Upon receiving the complaint, the Siliguri police launched an investigation into the incident.
