Siliguri, 28th December: Mayor Gautam Deb visited the site of a jewellery store burglary on Hill Cart Road in Siliguri to assess the situation and spoke with local business owners.
During the inspection, Mayor Deb stated that the theft appeared to be premeditated and planned in advance. He added that the matter will be discussed with the concerned committee, and coordination with the police commissioner is underway. A full investigation into the incident has begun, and authorities are working to quickly identify and bring the culprits to justice.
The theft came to light on Sunday morning when a store employee arrived to open the shop. The thieves made away with approximately 30 kilograms of silver and an estimated 100 to 200 grams of gold.
