Theft at jewellery store in Khudirampally, Siliguri; miscreants flee with gold chain

Siliguri, 27th November: A shocking theft took place at a jewellery store in Khudirampally, Siliguri, after six miscreants entered the shop disguised as customers and fled with a 27-gram gold chain.


According to reports, around 12 p.m. on Thursday, four youths entered the store while two others waited outside. Posing as customers, they kept the staff engaged by asking to see various gold ornaments. Taking advantage of the distraction, one of the youths slipped a gold chain into his pocket.

Within moments, all six miscreants fled the shop. After some time, when the shop owner could not locate the gold chain, the CCTV footage was checked, revealing the entire incident.


The matter was immediately reported to the Panitanki Outpost. Police reached the spot, examined the CCTV footage, and launched an investigation. The incident has sparked fear among local traders, especially as it occurred in broad daylight.
