The Himalayan Eye Institute marks 10 years with blood donation camp in Siliguri

Siliguri, 15th February: Marking the completion of ten years, The Himalayan Eye Institute organized a blood donation camp at Kiran Chandra Bhawan in Siliguri. Doctors, staff members and their family members participated enthusiastically in the camp. Siliguri Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, along with hospital management and other dignitaries, was present at the programme.


Established in 2016, the super-speciality eye hospital has been providing advanced and affordable treatment to people across North Bengal and adjoining regions for the past decade. On an average, nearly 250 patients visit the hospital daily for treatment. Apart from various districts of North Bengal, patients from Sikkim, Bhutan, Bihar, Bangladesh and Nepal also seek medical care here.

The hospital is equipped with modern operation theatres and advanced technology. Key facilities include a phaco machine, Constellation Vision System for retina surgeries and Pentacam for LASIK screening.


The institute is empanelled under West Bengal government health schemes and also provides cashless facilities in association with various insurance companies. It operates outdoor clinics in Jalpaiguri and Islampur. In collaboration with Siliguri Municipal Corporation, GTA and Ramakrishna Mission, the hospital regularly conducts free eye check-up camps.

According to hospital sources, more than three lakh patients have received successful treatment since 2016. Plans are also underway to further expand infrastructure on a larger scale in the coming years.
