Siliguri, 23rd December: Tensions erupted over the installation of a mobile tower over a multi-storey building in the Suryasen Colony E block area adjacent to NJP More Bazar.
It has been learned that a mobile tower has been set up on the multi-story house of Bikash Das, a resident of the area, to which the locals objected. They fear that children and elderly people in the area may be affected by the radiation of mobile towers. Hence, they demanded that the mobile tower be removed immediately.
On Thursday, locals staged a protest in front of Bikash Das’s house. Later, the NJP police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
