Rajganj, 5th October: On Wednesday, a significant portion of the Teesta River embankment was damaged due to water pressure in Gajoldoba. This comes following the disastrous flash flood which originated after a cloud burst late on Tuesday night. The rising water level in the Teesta River has inundated several areas in the plains.
As per reports, on Thursday, the work for repair of the damaged embankment started by transporting materials by boats. In this regard, a worker who came for the repair stated that about 300 meters of embankment on the Teesta River has been damaged and the repair work is in progress. He added that the repair work is being carried out by carrying sandstone, bamboos and other materials, on the boat.
