Tea worker trampled to death by wild elephant in Alipurduar

Alipurduar, 11th January: A wild elephant claimed the life of a tea worker named Kande Munda, a resident of the Madarihat Hantapara tea garden under Alipurduar district.


As per the report, the incident took place when he was working in Section 29 of Hantapara Tea Garden, on Monday morning.

Munda was rushed to Madarihat Primary Health Center in a severely injured condition where he succumbed to his injuries. Upon receiving the news, the forest workers of Jaldapara National Park rushed to the spot. The forest department has announced a compensation of 4 lakh rupees to the deceased’s family.
