Naxalbari, 28th June: In a brazen act of robbery on the Siliguri-Katihargami Intercity Express, a woman had sustained injuries after both she and the miscreant fell from the moving train during a bag-snatching attempt. The accused, identified as Mana Basfor (22), has been successfully arrested from Naxalbari.
According to reports, the incident occurred on June 10, beyond Naxalbari station, while a couple was returning home after a medical appointment. The accused Mana Basfor attempted to snatch the woman’s bag when her husband went to the lavatory, causing both the miscreant and the woman to fall from the train. As a result, the woman suffered significant injuries while Mana Basfor fled the scene.
Following this, the Government Railway Police (GRP) of Siliguri Junction launched a thorough investigation and subsequently arrested the accused on Thursday. On Friday, the accused was produced before the Siliguri court and taken into police remand for recovery of the stolen items.
