Siliguri, 16th November: The police have successfully cracked the case of the murder of 26-year-old Pushpa Chhetri in Siliguri, revealing a shocking twist.
Investigators discovered that Pushpa’s murder was orchestrated by her lover, Arun Paudel, who had hired ‘Supari Killers’ to eliminate her. The killers were locals from Pushpa’s area, and the murder was carried out by entering her house and attacking her with a sharp weapon to the throat.
It is to be noted that, Pushpa Chhetri, a resident of Malabazar, was found dead in Bhanu Nagar, Siliguri, on November 8. She had been working in a beauty parlor in Siliguri. So far, the Bhakti Nagar police have arrested three individuals in connection with the murder – two from Siliguri and one from Chennai.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Pushpa was in a relationship with Arun Paudel, a paramilitary forces worker stationed in Punjab. Arun wanted to end the relationship, but his wife, Pritika Paudel, was aware of it. Together, they hired two young men, Abhishek Dorji and Rustom Vishwakarma, both from Bagrakot, Malabazar, to carry out the murder. They paid the killers a sum of ₹50,000 in advance.
On the night of November 7, Abhishek and Rustom arrived at Pushpa’s rented house in Siliguri at around 10 p.m. They stayed there for about 45 minutes before attacking Pushpa with a sharp weapon to her neck, killing her. After the murder, Abhishek took a train to Chennai, where he worked in a hotel, while Rustom returned to Bagrakot.
Abhishek was arrested from Chennai on Friday, and after questioning him, the police arrested Pritika and Rustom on Saturday morning. The police revealed the details of the investigation in a press conference held by DCP East Rakesh Singh on Saturday.
