Siliguri, 10th March: Tensions erupted at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) in Siliguri as students protested against alleged ‘threat culture’ in the institution.
Medical students surrounded the college principal’s office in protest after new class representatives’ names were suddenly posted on the notice board, despite the presence of existing class representatives.
Students claimed the decision was made without any discussion or consultation with them.
They also alleged that the move reflects an ongoing ‘threat culture’ within the college.
Demanding that the decision be revoked, students held a strong demonstration in front of the principal’s office, highlighting their grievances over administrative decisions.
