Storeroom reduced to ashes in fire at Lanka Para, Alipurduar

Alipurduar, 25th February: A fire broke out in a storeroom in Lanka Para, near the Bhutan border, under Birpara police station in Alipurduar, reducing it to ashes.


According to local sources, the storeroom, used for storing cattle feed, suddenly caught fire in the Lanka Para market area. Residents initially attempted to douse the flames.

Upon receiving information, a fire brigade from Birpara rushed to the scene and managed to bring the fire under control.


However, by that time, the storeroom and all its contents were completely destroyed. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit.
