Siliguri, 25th June: In a breakthrough after nearly a month of investigation, NJP police have recovered a stolen motorcycle belonging to Railway Protection Force (RPF) employee Bijoy Roy and arrested one accused, identified as Sairul Islam, a resident of Fulbari.
The theft took place on May 14, when Bijoy Roy had parked his bike outside his quarters in Central Colony after completing duty. While he slept, the bike was allegedly stolen. A written complaint was promptly lodged at NJP police station.
Acting on the complaint, undercover officers began a detailed investigation. On Tuesday, police apprehended Sairul Islam from NJP Main Road along with the stolen motorcycle.
Police sources revealed that the accused has been involved in various anti-social activities. He was produced before Jalpaiguri court on Wednesday. Meanwhile, bike owner Bijoy Roy expressed happiness at the recovery of his vehicle.
