Rajganj, 18th September: The Special Task Force (STF) North Bengal arrested three smugglers along with 1 kg of brown sugar, on Friday night. The arrested accused have been identified as Tosif Ansari (22) from Uttar Pradesh, Alimuddin Rahman(27), and Saddam Ali (18) from Assam.
The STF, based on a tip-off, raided a bus heading from Assam to Bihar at the Toll Plaza in the Panikauri area in Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway and recovered 1 kg 16 grams of brown sugar. Three people were arrested in the incident. 35 thousand 260 rupees, three ATM cards of different banks, and several other documents were seized from their possession.
They were produced in Jalpaiguri court on Saturday seeking a 14-day remand.
