Rajganj, 15th November: MLA Khageswar Roy inaugurated two newly installed statues of Bir Birsa Munda at Shikarpur Tea Estate and Saraswatipur Tea Estate on the occasion of the tribal icon’s birth anniversary.
The day began with a cultural procession featuring dhamsa–madol from Belakoba Battala More, which later reached Shikarpur Tea Garden, where the first statue was unveiled. The statue was installed at a cost of approximately ₹5.11 lakh with financial assistance from the West Bengal Tribal Development Department.
Later, another statue of Birsa Munda was inaugurated at Saraswatipur Tea Estate under Mantadari Gram Panchayat.
The event was attended by Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy, Rajganj Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Rupali Dey Sarkar, Zilla Parishad member Ranbir Majumder, Shikarpur Gram Panchayat Pradhan Prabha Kujur, and several others.
