Siliguri, 19th October: The state government extended a helping hand towards the wife of Shyamal Biswas who died of COVID-19 on September 27.
Reportedly, Shyamal Biswas, a trader as well as a resident of Ward No. 22 under Siliguri Municipal Corporation, died of COVID-19 on September 27. Following his demise, his family members were living under severe crisis as he was the only breadwinner of the family.
Since he was a TMC worker, minister Goutam Deb brought the matter to the notice of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. And his wife Sucheta Biswas was then offered a job in a government-approved Bengali training center.
On Monday, Minister Goutam Deb handed over the appointment letter to her. Besides, Deb handed over several textbooks and a laptop to Shubhamoy Sarkar, a meritorious third-year student of North Bengal Dental College.
