Siliguri, 29th April: The Kaliaganj incident has caused a stir throughout the state. To assess the situation, Congress State President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary arrived at Bagdogra Airport from Delhi and then headed to Kaliaganj.
While addressing journalists at the airport, Chowdhary commented on several issues, stating that the legal system in Bengal has broken down. He expressed shock and dismay at the murder of a minor after being raped and condemned the behaviour of the police in response to the incident. He called for a CBI inquiry into the entire matter.
Regarding the removal of Justice Abhijeet Ganguly of Calcutta High Court from the recruitment corruption case, Chowdhary alleged that the ruling party in West Bengal was trying to control the judge, as judges were uncovering corruption within the state.
