Siliguri, 16th February: Sensation prevailed after a speeding pickup van coming from the Darjeeling More area crashed into an electric pole at Champsari More under Ward No. 46 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation, on Sunday morning.
Due to the crash, the electric pole was crumbled into pieces and electricity service in the area was also disrupted. However, no casualties have been reported in the incident.
Upon receiving the news, the Pradhan Nagar Police reached the spot and detained the pickup van. As per the report, the driver is absconding since the incident. The police have launched an investigation into the matter.
