Siliguri, 20th October: The South Bharat Nagar Sporting Club in Siliguri has officially begun its preparations for this year’s Kali Puja with the traditional ‘Khutti Puja’ ceremony. This marks the club’s 63rd anniversary of the celebrations.
A special highlight this year will be the 17-foot tall idol, crafted by local Kumartuli artisans. Club president Raju Pal expressed excitement about the initiative, noting that many people wish to seek blessings from the goddess but may be unable to do so due to work commitments or age constraints. He emphasized that the celebration organized by them aims to make the experience accessible to all.
In addition to the idol, the club plans to undertake various community service activities during the puja days, further enhancing their commitment to social welfare.
