Siliguri, 30th June: The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Siliguri Metropolitan Police recovered a large quantity of illegal country-made liquor from a hotel in Tinbatti More.
Based on a tip-off, the SOG, disguised as customers, entered a hotel at Tinbatti More on Tuesday night. They ordered food and questioned the hotel staff if they served any alcohol. After the officers got a lead, 17 cartons of country-made liquor were recovered from different rooms of the hotel. Hotel owner Shyamal Modak and worker Apurba Dutta were arrested in the incident. The recovered liquor and the two accused were handed over to the NJP police.
According to police sources, the price of the recovered liquor is around several thousand rupees. The duo was sent to Jalpaiguri court today.
