Social activist Goutam Goswami extends help to young cricketer Surojit Tikadar

Siliguri, 05th August: Despite being physically impaired since birth, Surojit Tikadar, a resident of Shantipara near Siliguri, has got the opportunity to play for the Indian cricket team in Bangladesh. After the upcoming Shardiya Utsav, he has been asked to travel to Bangladesh.

Surojit and his family are happy to get a chance to play in the Indian team. Besides, the entire city is proud of his success. Surojit started playing cricket only with his right hand in childhood. He has already participated in various games for the state. He will play for India against Bangladesh next month. However, his poverty has posed a barrier to his dream.

Surojit’s mother Mira Tikadar has been working hard to support her son’s sports expenses. The ongoing pandemic demands compulsory RTPCR report and vaccination for people to travel abroad. However, their financial crisis has become a major problem for his travel to Bangladesh.

Trinamool leader and social activist Goutam Goswami extended a helping hand after hearing about the situation. On Thursday, he arranged for Surojit’s COVID test and vaccination. In addition, he handed over several sports materials to him.
