Smuggler arrested with cannabis worth lakhs at Bagdogra airport, planned to smuggle it to Delhi

 Siliguri, 19th December: Another case of busting smuggling plan has come to the fore from the Bagdogra airport. The smuggler chose to fly to deliver the consignment of cannabis but the police dashed his hopes. 


 

 


Reportedly, last evening Anant Grover (38) reached Bagdogra airport via bus from Cooch Behar from there he was all set to head to Delhi, but during checking at the airport, the CISF team recovered a large quantity of cannabis from his bag. After this, the airport management informed the Bagdogra police station. As soon as the news was received, the police of Bagdogra police station reached the spot and arrested the accused and brought him to the police station. 

 

According to the sources, the accused had the plan to smuggle the said drug to Delhi but was caught before he could. During the search, a total of 20 kg 700 grams of cannabis has been recovered from the accused of which the market value has been estimated at lakhs of rupees. Today the accused was produced in Siliguri court.
