According to railway sources, the Toy Train started its usual morning journey from NJP station towards Darjeeling. Before reaching Siliguri Town Station, smoke was seen coming from one of the carriages. The sight of smoke immediately created panic among passengers and tourists. Fearing a fire, the train was stopped at once.
Railway staff quickly arrived at the scene, and passengers were safely evacuated. Additional safety measures were implemented to manage the situation.
