Siliguri, 01st December: In yet another action against unauthorized construction in the city, the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) brought down illegally constructed structures in Shanti Nagar under Siliguri’s Ward No. 36.
Reportedly, illegal constructions were undertaken in a residence and the house was also used for organizing events. In this regard, notices were sent to the owner by the Municipal Corporation. Failure to act on the notice on the part of the owner prompted the Municipal Corporation to take its course of action. The front portion of the house and the unauthorized construction on top of the building were demolished in the presence of the police. The Ashighar Outpost police have been deployed in the area since Friday morning.
